Why I replaced 'emotional' with 'human'.

Why I replaced 'emotional' with 'human'.

For years, everything I built used the word "emotional." Emotional timeline. Emotional marketing. Emotional intelligence. It was accurate and it was also, I've come to think, a small wall.

"Emotional" puts people on the defensive before they've even read the sentence. It sounds like something you'd rather not deal with at work, something for a therapist's office, not a boardroom. So I changed the word. Not the work, the work hasn't moved an inch. Just the word.

"Human" does something "emotional" never could: it includes everyone in the room without asking them to admit anything first. Every manager, every founder, every team is human before they're anything else. That's not a soft claim. It's the actual starting point of every campaign, every brand, every culture shift that's ever worked.

This isn't a rebrand. It's a correction. I build human-centered creative for brands willing to be honest, for organizations ready to meet their people as people. The methodology hasn't changed. I've just stopped making people climb over a word to get to it.

If you lead a team, a brand, or an organization and you're tired of "wellness initiatives" that don't move anything real, this is the conversation I want to have. Let's talk about what human, not just emotional, actually looks like inside your work.
